This 8" diameter, steel, white, recessed can light "blank-up" plate is used to cover the exposed hole left in the ceiling by unused & abandoned six or seven inch diameter can lights. It covers the entire fixture hole and prevents heat loss and risk of shock if the socket is energized and open. The smooth, white powder-coated finish blends with white ceiling paint for an attractive appearance in any finished space. The tapered, 1/4” outside edge seats firmly against the ceiling surface and prevents heat loss through the fixture opening as well as insect entry.
1. Screw the non-conductive threaded hub into the light socket.
2. Connect the spring to the hub eyelet and then stretch and connect it to the cover plate bracket.
3. Carefully allow the cover to spring back against the ceiling surface. The spring tension holds the cover plate tightly to the ceiling surface.

Glad they could help this homeowner with a small but important order.
This Item is terrific...it installs easily and the customer can paint over them, if desired. I endorse this item.
Works great....However, I would have liked to have had the option for a matte finish instead of gloss...it is kind of shiny and draws more attention than I would like.
Solid metal and quality construction throughout, looks great too. Color choices would be good- I ended up painting mine dark to match the home theater's ceiling.

Replaced 4 recessed can lights with one multi-function ceiling fan with LED lighting. Covered the old can lights with Garvin's covers. Painted them to match the ceiling color and they all but disappeared.
Not Star Trek Scotty
Used product to cover ceiling holes after removing old canister lights. Completely changed the look without doing major repairs!
